The Lower Back Tattoo Design - A New Trend With Historic Origins

Tattoos, Tattoos, Tattoos... Take a look around you and you will observe that nearly every second man and women is sporting at least one tattoo these days. It seems that members of the young generation are, in ever increasing numbers, having tattoos etched on nearly every part of their bodies. The most common areas of the body for large tattoo designs are arms (both upper and lower regions) hands, and legs. Some more adventurous are having their tattoos on chest and upper back regions and some of the more daring are even having their scalp, face and neck tattooed. Since the start of the 1990s the most popular of all places for tattoos among women (both young and mature alike), is on the lower back region slightly above the hips/waist.

The lower back tattoo design is quite often oblong in shape and is considered to enhance the curves and shapes of the female body. There are an untold number of reasons for this popularity, but probably the most common reason for women having a lower back tattoo is the fact that it is considered very attractive and sensual. In other words, a woman who displays such a tattoo believes that she becomes more attractive in the eyes of other people. Generally most women wish to be appealing to the opposite sex thus the explosion of the lower back tattoo!

The History And Origins of the Lower Back Tattoo

While the lower back tattoo has re-emerged in popularity over the last few years, it is certainly not a new design. In fact lower back tattoos have been around for hundreds of years. The origin of lower back tattoo is actually connected to ancient religions and spiritual rituals. In ancient times, the lower part of the back was considered as the storage place of a persons spiritual energy. This is quite similar to the notion of the chi force and meridian fields that are common to eastern cultures. Additionally, the concept of lower back energy is also found in certain styles of Yoga. It is therefore not surprising that this concept shares similar traits with other eastern religions as the practice of Yoga played an influential role within many types of eastern religions.

Historically, the lower back area emerged as a popular place to show off tattoos, as it was believed the tattooing in this region of the body would assist in the release and subsequent harnessing of a persons internal energy. Regrettably much of the history supporting the lower back tattoo has been lost to all but the most knowledgeable scholars of the subject.

Many of the women wearing a lower back tattoo design today are not necessarily familiar with the origins and the unique history and significance of this type of tattoo. It is not imperative to understand the complete history behind the lower back tattoo, however, some knowledge of its origins may well add a unique aspect and significance to the tattoo as well as helping to explain to others why you chose this particular style of tattoo.

What Does it Take to Design a Tattoo

Have you ever considered what it takes to design a tattoo? Have you ever wanted to design your own tattoo? Maybe you think you have what it takes to be a tattoo designer? All these questions can and will be answered in the following paragraphs.

Artistry

Posted on the walls of hundred of tattoo shops in the world, are predesigned pictures ready to be inked on your skin. Equally static are the picture books, usually containing the same boring designs found on the walls of tired tattoo galleries. If you really want to find quality in your artist, you will be able to peruse as portfolio of hand picked favorites, chosen by the artist. Any self-respecting artist has a range of their proudest works available to look over.

Integrity

Many designers never thought hey would be in the world of tattoos. They spent their lives doodling on papers, drawing for recreation, or even tucked away in the office of some architecture or advertising firm. The tattoo bug bit them and they transformed into creators of living art tattoo patterns. Real tattoo artists, like any artist, hone and polish their skills. They go to trade shows and compare their works against other artists. They research those that came before them, as well as the fine-tuning methods that help to create body art that pops off the skin. Artists with integrity will never do a tattoo on a drunken person or someone too young. They must have ethics. They use the cleanest and most hygienic tools and practices.

Vision

If you walk into a tattoo shop, you may find several artists working in conjunction. Like members on a sports team, there are always weaker and stronger players. A quality artist will help to improve the work of younger or lesser artists. A careful search through the different portfolios of each artist will help you see which one has the greatest vision. Some artists specialize in a specific motif. An artist might be famous for portrait tattoos, while another may be know for extraordinary dragon tattoos. One guy might be credited with Japanese tattoo perfection, and one girl will blow you away with her lotus flower power. The main point to recognize in this is that each of these artists has vision. They possess clarity in exactly what type of tattoo niche they want to offer.

Confidence

As in any trade, if the artist does not have confidence, then they will eventually fall along the wayside. To design tattoos, one must trust their ability to draw or sketch. They must be able to see things that other artists do not. They have to explore the old and the new and the literal and the abstract. Above all, they have to present their ideas and works as professional, and be ready to stand behind their artistic choices. Otherwise they will be pushed into designing tattoos that no one else wants to do, and that is tragic.

1. Tend not to necessarily go for ones big vendors.

Confident, the big sellers moved over with selling in publications, direct mail, as well as catalogs, to then configuring their own the business sector sites and selling out of this standpoint. But the world wide web is the great leveler. A guy who learns ways to cut costs and sell his well-known tattoo equipment straight to the buyer can undercut an important seller. So do not necessarily go for the biggest and most well known tattoo supply companies. The "business up coming door" guy may suggest to a better price plus more personalized service.

Another point related to classified ads site is to guarantee the equipment is innovative. If it is new, it really should be sanitized properly, and of course, no one should be selling or buying used tattoo needles as this is against the law.

Once a superior tattoo equipment dealer is actually found, with pleasant prices on skin icon machines, needles, different types of tattoo ink, cleanliness equipment, chairs, and so on - consider getting this done them. In time, having a reliable vendor provides improvement over constantly shopping around for a better price.

Looking For A Great Tattoo Idea? Try A Celtic Tattoo!

Tattoos seem to be everywhere these days! There appears to be no limit to the variation of colorful & unique tattoo designs being displayed by people from all walks of life. Musicians, movie stars, lawyers, the girl next door - everyone seems to have discovered the ancient practice of adorning yourself with body art.

People will get a tattoo for varying reasons. For some, it is a tribal custom which dates back hundreds or even thousands of years. For others, it is a message to send to the world about something or someone. And for others still, it is merely a decorative addition to their physical self - an enhancement to the image they wish to project to the world around them.

Of all the tattoo categories, none stands out more in impact & intricacy than the Celtic tattoo! Said with a hard 'c' (as in 'Keltic'), these tattoos can be described as the 'tapestries' of the tattoo world. No other tattoo ideas can rival it in beauty or complexity, and when viewed by other people they become an instant conversation topic as they marvel at the flowing lines and subtle weavings of this tattoo design.

The term 'Celts' is given to a proud and fearsome collection of tribal people who occupied areas of Europe and the British isles around Roman times. They fought battles early on with the Romans themselves, and later with other powers including the early English. Their fervor in armed conflict was the stuff of legends, and their tradition of fighting battles whilst displaying intimidating body art instilled fear into the hearts of their enemies.

As the Celts were conquered, and often to appease their increasingly Christian masters, elaborate crosses began to appear in their tattoo designs, and this now persists to modern times. Celtic tattoos often contain crosses as a central element, although there are often other themes such as knots, triangles and almost-floral murals, with the image seeming to flow within itself. They are a truly unique tattoo, and they require a skilled professional to apply them properly!

People who decide to get this type of tattoo will often follow the old Celtic example, starting with something relatively small. This small image is then enlarged with other tattoos over time, with the final masterpiece covering quite large areas of the body and having taken years to assemble. It is one of the few tattoos which is commonly worn on the neck, and is also worn commonly on the upper arm or shoulder, lower leg or foot, as well as larger artwork on the chest or back.

As previously mentioned, these incredible tattoos are complex and intricate in nature, and require the talents of a skilled artist to apply properly. Celtic tattoos also mature extremely well, and look just as good on someone in their sxties as on someone in their twenties. However, they are somewhat rarer than most traditional tattoos, mainly because of the difficulty in finding someone who can apply them, and also the expense that is associated with this. Nevertheless, a well-inked Celtic tattoo is an incredible addition to your persona, and will intrigue and delight those who see them for as long as you live!

Butterfly Tattoo

There are a few reasons why people choose to have a butterfly tattoo. To some, the meaning of a butterfly is symbolic and it represents a defining moment in their lives. Others choose butterflies only because they are so beautiful and make gorgeous tattoos.

So what is the symbolic meaning of a butterfly? These lovely winged creatures have many meanings and they are different in many cultures:

Transformation, regeneration, change or flight - The metamorphosis of a butterfly from an egg, to a caterpillar, to pupa and then to a beautiful adult butterfly can be symbolic for someone that has had a drastic change in their lives
Beauty and grace - In Japan they are a popular symbol for young girls who are emerging into beautiful young women
Guidance in change - When Native Americans see a butterfly, this is what it signifies to them
Marital bliss and harmony - In China it is believed that they will bring happiness to married couples
A human soul - In Christianity a butterfly stands for the soul that has escaped the confines of the flesh while in Greece a human soul is born each time a butterfly emerges from its cocoon
Dead souls waiting to go into purgatory - Is how Ireland views them
Joy and happiness - Asians keep many pictures and paintings of butterflies to have a happy home

As you can see butterflies have various meanings to different cultures and people, but you may just want one because they are so pretty. There are so many color choices for these designs that you can literally let your imagination run wild when choosing them. You can also add flowers, hearts, a name or even have several butterflies grouped together.

Women especially are fond of butterfly tattoos because of their femininity and grace.
They also look great in just about anyplace you want to put them. Popular design locations are ankle, foot, wrist, stomach, back, shoulder and arm. You can also get this tattoo in any size imaginable from small to large.  Whatever choice you make for your butterfly tattoo, it will be a beautiful work of art that you will love forever.

New School Tattooing A Break From Tradition

Tattooing has been with mankind for centuries. Its thought that tattooing began as far back as 6000 years ago. Although this is an interesting fact, of more concern to anyone considering a tattoo today is the emergence of New School tattooing. Just what is new school tattooing and how is it different than old school tattooing?

Before we can understand new school tattooing, we first must define what old school tattooing is. As mentioned earlier, tattooing began a long time ago, however the tools and methods used for tattooing were primitive. Modern tattooing did not emerge from the dark ages until the early part of the 20th century. Once good ole Tom Edison invented the electric engraving machine the birth of modern tattooing got underway. During the early 1900s traveling Circus entertainers began tattooing their bodies to create the circus freak show attraction known as the tattooed man. This was the first introduction of tattooing to large groups of civilized people. As time went on tattooing became accepted by sailors, outlaws, criminals, and others considered as patrons of the low side of life.

The art in those early days was simple and centered on single item imagery like flowers, animals, cartoon characters, crosses, hearts, knives, skulls, etc. There was of course artistic talent applied to the single item imagery and tattoos became quite elaborate and artful. This style is of a flatter or one dimensional nature and uses red, green, golden yellow and a lot of black as the only colors. Old School tattooist for the most part were shunned and repressed by the public and their craft revolved around mean concepts and attitudes, dark colors, heavy shading and surly kinds of people.

Somewhere around the late seventies, early eighties, a new movement in tattooing began. With the advent of better tattooing guns, the addition of better ink with more colors, and the creation of standards for cleaner, safer tattooing practices, a new attitude was beginning within the public and amongst tattooing artist. Young upstart tattoo artists not knowing the ways of old were beginning to bring a different style of tattooing to the public. The new, younger tattoo artists aided by better ink & equipment began combining the old tradition of tattooing with their personal style in a fashion that is now considered to be New School Tattooing.

New School Tattoos

New School tattooing is a brighter, lighter, friendlier style of tattooing. It's bubbly, realistic, beautiful, and at times almost obnoxious. But that's what makes it what it is, proud, lighthearted, colorful, and artistic in a much more elaborate way. Another aspect of new school tattooing is that it takes on a 2 or 3 dimensional look while old school tattooing tends to be flat or 1 dimensional.

Essential Tools Needed For A Successful Tattoo Business

As a beginner tattoo artist, you should have a good idea of what you should be looking for when it comes to being sure that youre ordering from a tattoo supply merchant that is going to give you a great price and reliability.

Although there are an incredible amount of tattoo supply resources to order from and use in tattoo shops or in the tattoo industry as a whole, theres actually only a very small amount of tattoo supply needs that tattoo artists should really be concerned with, especially if the tattoo artist is a new tattoo artist that is just beginning. As a beginner tattoo artist, you should have a good idea of what you should be looking for when it comes to being sure that youre ordering from a tattoo supply merchant that is going to give you a great price and reliability, even if its something as small as your first tattoo kit or a backup tattoo kit.

The most important tattoo supply that any tattoo artist should be primarily concerned with is a obtaining a high quality tattoo machine. Often a tattoo machine is referred to as a tattoo gun, and many believe this is basically what tattoo kits are comprised of including tattoo ink. However, the tattoo machine is a device that is a gun like instrument that tattoo artists use to put tattoos on clients. This is what determines a tattooists performance, and should be the central piece that an artist is concerned with since its essentially the primary tool that tattoo artists are going to be using all throughout their career. Of course, this particular supply has cousin components it used in order to perform right, such as the right kind of tattoo needles, whatever kind of ink you prefer as an artist, and most importantly, the tattoo machine requires power in order to get any work completed.

A tattoo machine has needles loaded into it, and is comprised of needles for shading and liners. Of course neither of these needles would do anything if ink werent loaded into them, so ink is put into the machine as well. This is what creates a tattoo: the needle depositing ink into the skin.

Tattoo Removal..

Tattoos are something that look great when you're young, but, as the body starts to age and sag and there's the battle of the bulge, those beautiful tattoos that were once a statement of art and beauty, can be a wrinkled mess that look more like an ink spot than anything else. There's also the drunken episode where a tattoo sounds great, just to realize what you've done the next day. There are many reasons individuals choose to have their tattoos removed. That beautiful name that was your lover who is no longer your lover, your tastes went from roses to skulls, or whatever reason, that tattoo is no longer a part of you. So what's the solution? Tattoo removal.

Laser tattoo removal is the solution and it is safe and simple. The technology is advanced and effective on all skin types. Laser tattoo removal using the Q switch technology, uses a laser beam which initiates a photo acoustic wave of energy. With this technology, the ink is shattered into particle fragments that are gradually removed by the body's natural process. The amazing thing about the process is that it is not only effective, the treatment only take a few minutes. The advantage is that it is safe and that it targets all colors of ink breaking up the pigment of the skin. The treatment can be performed on all parts of the body with the exception of the inner ear and areas surrounding the eyes.

Although the laser treatment is not painful, there can be some degree of discomfort. It does only last a few minutes, however.

Laser tattoo removal is most effective with a course of treatments.
There is no set number of treatments, and a laser removal clinic will consult with the individual and then be able to give them an idea, as the number of treatments will depend on the type of the ink, as well as, the depth, amount and color. Typically treatments are spaced about six weeks apart.

For those that do opt for laser tattoo removal they may experience swelling redness and the feeling that like a mild sunburn. There may also be scabbing. There may also some change in the texture of the skin, or discoloration but that typically does not last.

Laser tattoo removal is the preferred method of tattoo removal. There is little risk of scarring, the pain is minimal, and the method does not take extensive treatments. It is also affordable and within reach of many individuals. You should definitely seek a skin clinic that specializes in tattoo removal using laser beam.

There are many sources to research laser skin clinics with online being one of the best sources. You definitely want a clinic that has the experience and expertise, as well as, a portfolio where they can show their successful work. Consultation should be free and after your initial consultation, you should have a good idea of the effectiveness and the number of treatments that will be required to permanently remove the tattoo. hair removal melbourne is also a treatment that the clinic should perform.

Tattoo Inks

Different types of tattoo inks are available in the market. Some are synthetic colors whereas some are organic. Such tattoo inks are available in a number of colors too.

Tattoo inks are inserted in the skin of the client by puncturing holes using tattoo needles. The tattoo ink is actually a suspension of pigment in a carrier solution. The function of the carrier solution is to mix the pigment evenly so that it gives a smooth finishing on the skin. The pigment particles are of a size that it is not broken down by the defense mechanism of the body. The tattoo inks stay in the second layer of the skin which is why a tattoo stays intact forever on the skin.

The tattoo inks are also organic. They are made up of vegetable dyes, metallic and mineral salts. Sometimes a mixture of more than one pigment is also used. In order to add color to the ink, metallic oxides are used. Other carrier solutions used to make tattoo ink are vodka, purified water and glycols. Vodka is the most widely used as it the safest. An added advantage of using these carrier solutions is that they act as disinfectants too.

We all know that tattoo inks are not always safe. A no. of people complain of skin allergies, so it important that proper and good quality tattoo inks are used. There is an important fact that some tattoo artists do not know is the use of alcohols in inks.
It should be strictly avoided. The presence of alcohols increases the chances of disease transmission.

Proper sterilisation of tattoo guns is extremely important due to use of these colors. The needle should be very clean. For every new customer, a new needle should be used. Make sure that the needle pack is broken in front of the customer only so that the customer is assured for safety. There is no point in getting a tattoo done and later getting skin allergies and infections. All this can be prevented with a precaution taken by the tattoo artist.

Tattoo Inks May Present A Greater Risk Than You Think

Recently I have been required me to get a real crash course in the body art world. As I have mentioned on many occasions I am not hostile to tattoos I simply rather individuals to acquire educated on the subject matter before submitting to such a lasting procedure. And then if they decide they no longer would like the body art I think they ought to be able to remove it for a minimum cost and no pain if at all possible.

I have so much information on body art inks that it would take several posts to include it all. First and foremost I will say that from a chemistry perspective body art inks are not inks at all, they are pigments inside a carrier solution. Huh? Simply put, it is kind of like adding together water to finger paints. However, in this situation the pigments are typically metal, plastic, or else vegetable based while the carrier portion is more than likely some alcohol solution.

There are two considerations, the first is the possible toxic nature of the 'inks' and the other is the fact that there is no regulation of ink structure. While your tattoo design artist is a dynamic artist, he/she is probably no a chemist. You should be concerned at this time since many body art artists mix their own inks. Is this occurring in a sterile atmosphere? Highly improbable.

It would seem that many additional people would come down with illnesses correlated to tattoos but it clearly does not seem to be that big of a deal. Well consider this, the human body is tough on many levels and does a pretty high-quality job of keeping us healthy. Still the subject here is the prolonged exposure to the polluted or toxic components of body art inks. So what happens in year 5, 10, or 20? As for the new wave of body art enthusiasts it may be too soon to ascertain. A few have found out the hard way that they are in fact allergic to materials in the inks. What do you do when you are allergic to something that is under the skin. Even the process of removal has the ability to make you even sicker as the inks are now passed through the lymph node structure and expelled...

There will be a much more in depth articles on body art inks forthcoming but I would persuade you to have a discussion to your tattoo artists about the inks they use and where they come from. Ask them about the location where they are stored and if there is a standard for sterilization.

Perhaps this is a further reason tattoo removal is on the rise like never before.

Choosing the Right Tattoo Design

When you are preparing to get your first tattoo, the design is of great importance. You will probably spend a great deal of time making your decision, so instead of taking up extra time at the tattoo parlour, spend some time browsing the Internet and even going to the tattoo parlour to find out what kinds of tattoo designs they offer. If you spend the time before you actually go to get your tattoo you will spend less time and feel less nervous about having it done. Let us face iteven if you are a macho male, you are going to be nervous about getting your first tattoo.

Do not feel childish if you become nervous about getting your first tattoo. You may not be nervous about the tattoo as much as you are about wondering if you are choosing the right one or if it is going to look right when it is finished. There are many different reasons why you might experience some apprehension and not all of them relate to any kind of fear. In fact, for most people it is not fear of getting the tattoo but concern over choosing the right design and the place where it will look best. The other thing that concerns people getting a first tattoo is whether they will have a problem at work or choosing an inconspicuous spot so that no one at work can see it.

Today more women are choosing to have tattoos and though many people do not agree with this, it is a personal choice. The one thing that women need to consider, however, is that many employers are more likely to accept a male with a tattoo than a female. Therefore, do not develop the attitude that you have a right to do what you want to your body because the employer also has the right not to hire you or keep you on the payroll. There are some rules by which we must abide and that includes wearing tattoos to work. For women choosing a tattoo design that does not show is an alternative and that includes the inclination to have a rose tattooed on your ankle. It may sound small and dainty but if your employer has a rule against tattoos being visible in the work place you will put yourself in a position where you will always have to wear pants or ankle length skirts and dresses.

How to Choose the Best Tattoo Design

Part of making a decision to have a tattoo is choosing the best design possible. There are no limits to what a tattoo can offer to you. They can be bold and make a loud statement. They can be alluring and much more subdued. They can be over the top or sentimental. The choice is yours but be careful when making it. Ultimately, you will live with this tattoo design for some time in coming. Therefore, you want only the very best option to be what you actually have done.

One of the first things to consider about a tattoo design is how well the image fits your personality. Tattoos are usually to be symbolic of who you are and what has defined you. Therefore, you should consider designs that do well to represent your personality as much as possible. What qualities about your personality are you most interested in sharing with the world? This will make a significant difference in the long term in terms of how well the tattoo represents you.

Prior to agreeing to any tattoo design, be sure there has been a sketch of the tattoo that you have approved. That final sketch you approve should also be in colour. Do you like the colour scheme and is there any colour you want to change out? This will ensure the design has the composition you want. You would not want to look in the mirror and see a design that you hate the colour of.

Yet another consideration for choosing the best tattoo is to invest in a tattoo for the right reasons. Your friend may have a great tattoo that you would like to have. However, does that tattoo have a deep meaning for you? If not, look for another design. Avoid choosing tattoos because of their fashion trend meaning and instead look at them for what they actually mean to you, at a much deeper level. That way, you will appreciate it and be proud of it years from now just as you are now.

Celebrity Tattoos: Rihanna

Rihanna is a huge tattoo lover. She loves tattoos so much that she has a total of twelve and she also enjoys spending her free time just hanging out in tattoo studios. Although the Barbados born beauty has twelve tattoos you probably havent even noticed half of them, half of them are very small and in unnoticeable places.

Heres a list of her twelve tattoo:

1. A music note on her ankle.

2. The Pisces sign behind her right ear

3. A star in her left ear

4. Sanskrit prayer going down her hip

5. The word love on her left middle finger

6. A patch of star dust on the back of her neck

7. [she turned #6 into] a trail of stars going down her back

8. The phrase shhh on her right index finger

9. The date 11-4-1986 on top of her left shoulder

10. A skull on the back of her left ankle

11. Freedom in God written in Arabic on her left side

12. A tribal design on her right hand and wrist that represents strength and love

Rihanna loves to talk about her tattoos and loves to explain what they mean. She sat down with The View in Las Vegas and talked to them about her latest tattoo.

Theyre Roman numerals. Me and my best friend got the same thing. Its her DOB (date of birth) and she has mine.

I like hanging out in tattoo shops. When I am in New York, after all the photo shoots and performances, when I should be resting, sometimes I get dressed and go to the tattoo parlors in SoHo and hang out. I am so intrigued by tattoos. Its an entire culture, and I study it. Sometimes I go with friends or just by myself. I get bum-rushed, but I dont care. I dont take security.

Where to Find Awesome Celtic Tattoo Ideas Online

Celtic tattoo designs have exploded in popularity in recent times. Many people looking to get a tattoo to Celtic designs for inspiration and tattoo parlors do brisk business inking clients with Celtic styled tattoos. An unfortunate side effect of this popularity is that it can be very difficult to located original, high quality artwork and most people unwittingly settle for low quality generic designs. This article delves into the ways one can locate polished, superior Celtic tattoo designs without having to wade through hundreds of the same old artwork they have seen a million times before.

A large majority of the people searching for Celtic tattoos end up using popular search engines for finding designs - this has become the predominant for finding tattoo artwork of all kinds. The major drawback with this method is that search engines are not really suited for finding niche tattoo websites that feature unique, one-of-a-kind Celtic designs; instead the kinds of sites that tend to dominate the first few pages of results are cookie cutter websites featuring unoriginal generic designs.

The problem with these sites is that they are designed to appeal to the largest possible online audience to generate hits and become popular with search engines. They usually feature the same old designs that are at least a few years old. Such Celtic designs have been inked on so many bodies over the past few years that they border on being clich. Chances are that the same tattoo designs that show up on such highly ranked pages have already popped up on hundreds of other sites on the internet as well as on thousands of people around the world.

Another huge problem with picking Celtic tattoo artwork off these sites is that they are not specifically designed to be used as actual tattoos. While most of the artwork may look good to the casual viewer, they will not look as nice inked on the body. Looking good on a computer monitor or on a printout and looking good on a human body are two very different things. The people who run most these popular sites throw in any random Celtic artwork and designs without giving much thought to their suitability as tattoos. Individuals who use these designs often end up getting inked with tattoos they are not completely satisfied with - a fatal blunder when dealing with something as permanent as tattoos.

There is hope, however. Internet discussion forums and message boards have risen to be a viable replacement for search engines when it comes to finding niche content like original Celtic tattoo designs. Tattoo forums provide a wealth of information first-hand from tattoo aficionados who have been through it all and are eager to share their experiences, good or bad, with others. Forums are a great place to find links to lesser known websites and galleries of original and fresh Celtic artwork that are perfect for tattoos. Since these links are gathered by living, breathing human-beings that are passionate about Celtic tattoo designs and not search engine algorithms, they are vastly superior to anything churned out by Google, MSN or Yahoo. While most internet users are more familiar with using search engines, it pays to take the extra time to learn how to navigate online forums - many will find it well worth their time and effort.

Tattoo Machine

It was Thomas Edison who first made the very first tattoo machine which was called the stencil pen in the year 1800. After a few years, the stencil pen was reinvented and was modified by a now known tattoo artist in the state of New York and is known as the inventor of the modern tattoo machine by the name of Samuel O'Rilley. But even though O'Rilley was the one who modified and made this machine possible to use, his apprentice Charlie Wagner owns the entire patent of the machine.

There are different types of tattoo machine nowadays and we will learn them one by one.

1. Liner tattoo machine - This one is used to do the base of the artwork. This will start the outline of the entire tattoo and is also good to use to do intricate line details. If you will look at the tip of this tattoo machine, you will notice that it is composed of multiple needles arranged in a circular position.

2. Shader tattoo machine - Unlike the liner tattoo machine where the needles are arranged in circle, the shader on the other hand is comprised of several needles that are arranged in flat rows. This one is used to put color and to add shadings to the artwork to make it more interesting.

3.
Rotary tattoo machine - This tattoo machine is like a combination of the liner and the shader because it can do outlines, details and shadings.

4. Neuma tattoo machine - This is the most modern of all tattoo machines. Instead of wheel or coil to move the needles, it uses compressed air. This one can also automatically sterilize its needles which are not possible to happen with the first three types of tattoo machine.

So these are the different devices that you can use to start your hobby or business if you want to venture into the tattoo business in the future. This is one of the very promising business nowadays since most people whether male or female are interested in having themselves inked.

Just a suggestion, if you are just a beginner in the field, you may purchase a starter kit of a tattoo machine first which is available in most tattoo stores. From there you can work your way up to improve your skills and master the art of making tattoo. So if you are interested to learn the art of making tattoo, you must be familiar with the device used to make a tattoo.

As the owner of a tattoo shop or if you work for a tattoo shop as an artist, then you probably understand the frustration in finding a vendor of tattoo supplies that is reliable, trustworthy, and that offers incredible quality. Its certainly not an easy world to operate in, as there are so many offers out there for the best products when in fact so many come from foreign countries and are not only of poor quality most of the time, but also may be dangerous to use on your customers.

There is simply a need to use some discretion when choosing where to buy from online, and its always best to avoid purchasing supplies from overseas just because theyre cheaper. Even though they cost you less in the here and now, in reality, they could end up costing you may more than you anticipated if you begin to lose customers or if something happens and one of your customers become ill or incredibly dissatisfied. How to find Tattoo Shops and Artist Near You

The digital age is upon us, and the most efficient way to keep a business running is through online marketing. In the past, the yellow pages, newspaper listings, and word of mouth was the primary means of promotion, but as the times change, so do the advertising tactics of small businesses. Why Do We Need Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment

Tattooing has been a part of many cultures since the beginning of modern civilization. And from the past ten years, with the growing popularity of tattoos its market is dramatically expanding. According to a research, almost 25% of the U.S. population have some sort of tattoo on their bodies. These tattoos are created by injecting a pigment into a small hole made in the skin. These pigments can be of different colors. Regardless of whether a trained or untrained professionals inject that pigment, the designs of these tattoos are relatively permanent.

As the market of creating tattoos on a body is increasing every day, the market for their effective removal is also becoming very popular. With rapidly growing technology, new laser tattoo removal techniques and treatments are being introduced in the market and now you can remove your tattoos with minimal side effects. In this treatment, laser removes tattoos by dissolving the pigment colors of the tattoos with high-intensity light beams. Black tattoos are easier to treat as black pigments absorb all the laser wavelength and makes it easier to treat. However, other colors require specific laser intensity to remove them completely.

There are a variety of reasons why you need a laser tattoo removal treatment and some of them are discussed below.

Loss of Natural Beauty

A tattoo may look attractive initially but it does not look good permanently and its beauty does not last long. It may make your skin look ugly and it may look more like a scar. Therefore, opting for laser treatment for tattoo removal will be the wisest decision as it causes no irritation or burning on the skin and do not form any scar after the procedure.

Allergy caused by Pigments used

You may use a variety of colors on your tattoo. However, there are certain colors, such as red, blue, yellow and green, that can cause allergic skin reactions like irritation or an itchy rash at the tattoo. This can happen even years after you get a tattoo. By using the laser tattoo removal treatment, you can get rid of these tattoos without damaging the surrounding area of the tattoo. The laser only affects the pigment underneath your skin and remove it completely, giving you a healthy and clean skin again. It may take some time to recover the tattoo area but it eventually heals.

Better than other Tattoo Removal Treatments

It is a non surgical procedure and is used to remove or fade the unwanted tattoo. It only targets the pigment and leave the surrounding tissues unharmed.

There are other tattoo removal treatments available, such as excision where the whole tattooed area is cut out of your skin and the surrounding skin is sutured together. It is not only harmful but also leave a permanent mark on your skin. Chemical Peel is another tattoo removal procedure where the chemical solution is applied to the tattooed area which causes the area to swell and it is then peeled off. Tattoo removal creams are also available in the market that remove the tattoo after its regular application. But these procedures are very painful and causes permanent marks & discoloration on your skin.

Unlike other tattoo removal procedures, Laser tattoo removal is an individualized procedure where specific laser beams are applied to different colors and tones. A qualified expert performs this procedure and controls the accuracy of the laser system for effective results. It is rapidly becoming a popular treatment due to the minimal discoloration and scarring now associated with the treatment.

Therefore, permanent tattoos are not permanent anymore as they once used to be, thanks to the advanced laser tattoo removal treatments that can effectively remove even the largest tattoos and help you regain your natural looking skin again.

Tattoo Tale #1.

Every tattoo has a story, and here's the story of one of mine...

Back in high school I probably would have been voted Girl Least Likely to Get Tattooed, if they'd had such a title. I was a good girl, a good student. It's not that I had anything against tattoos at all, but at that time it seemed like it was always the wild kids that would get the tattoos and back then I didn't have a wild bone in my body. I was in the high school band, the color guard, the winter guard, the bowling club and the French club. So as you can see, these activities don't necessary scream out "party girl" in any way. During those years I never thought much about tattoos at all. I had few family members with tattoos (mostly uncles) and while I thought they were neat, it never crossed my mind to want one for myself.

That all changed after graduation, however. I don't know what first caused the flip in my mind, but I found myself wanting a tattoo. I wasn't sure what I wanted or even where on my body I wanted to have it. I just had an overwhelming desire to have some body art. When the desire first came upon me, I didn't do anything about it right away. I thought that I was the only one in my circle of friends who'd actually want a tattoo, so I said nothing about it. I didn't want to go to a tattooist on my own, so I let the thought linger and figured some day in the future, maybe I'd get one.

One day a friend and I somehow got on the topic of tattoos and we were equally shocked by how much the other one was thinking the same thing... we both wanted to get a tattoo. Neither one of us knew anyone personally in our local area that had tattoos who could recommend a place to go. We were afraid to randomly pick a tattoo parlor. We didn't want to end up getting infections or worse from the tattoo needles, so somehow we had to find a way to figure out which tattoo artist we wanted to use.

Days, weeks, months passed and we didn't talk much about it. I know I kept thinking about it, but was half-certain that I'd chicken out in the long run. One day I was sitting home watching television when Oprah came on. I've never been a regular viewer of that show, but that day I decided to watch it. In an interesting turn of fate, one of her guests was a tattoo artist that owned a tattoo parlor in New Jersey! Not just anywhere in New Jersey, but in Wayne, which wasn't far at all from where I lived. A little light bulb went on above my head and I just knew that Oprah wouldn't have just any ol' tattoo guy on her show. Clearly she must have invited him because he was respectable, clean and successful. I knew then and there that my first tattoo would be done at his place.

It took some time for my friend and I to get together the funds that we thought we'd need to get our tattoos and we were both 19 years old by the time we did so. Excitement hit us hard when we realized we were really going to go through with it!

Walking into the tattoo studio for the first time was an experience I'll never forget. We were instantly amazed by all the pictures on the wall. It was almost overwhelming! Of course at this point neither one of us really knew what we wanted to have tattooed, but we were going to get something! I knew for certain that I didn't want a rose or anything girly. I've always been a tomboy and wanted something that wouldn't be overly feminine. When I saw a picture on the wall of a certain tattoo... I knew it was meant for me. It was perfect. It wasn't feminine in the least and it was unique. I knew that no one else around would have something similar. Although I'm sure there are others elsewhere that have it too, but it spoke to me and I knew that I'd found my tattoo.

My friend went first because she was afraid if she watched me get mine done she'd chicken out if I so much as let on that there was any pain. She had a sunflower with a peace sign done on her middle-lower back. Not a spot that I had any intention of getting a tattoo in this life time.

My turn was up and I told the gentleman what I wanted and where. And what I wanted was a bat tattooed on my upper back, right near the shoulder blade. And that's what I got. The bat spoke to me because I have always been freakishly obsessed with all things vampire... books, movies, TV shows, myths and legends, etc. This was not an interest that would ever disappear from my life. It was perfect. I was so thrilled with it. In the location that I have it, I can hide it completely just by wearing a shirt. So for the most part, no one even knew that I had it for quite some time. I was surprised that there was no real pain involved in the process. I'd had fear that it would hurt, but to me it wasn't painful at all. The most annoying part of it was the sound of the needle. The noise was real close to my ear and had a rather irritating buzz to it. Other than that my entire experience with getting my first tattoo was a very positive one. I know when we walked out of the building, my friend and I were both so giddy that we'd actually done something wild and crazy!

And that's the story of my first tattoo. I was going to include the stories for all my tattoos, but this article somehow ended up being way too long as it is. Tattoos 2-5 will come at a later time.

Can I just say... do you know how hard it is to take a photo of your back shoulder blade with a cell phone in a tiny medicine cabinet mirror? It is not easy! That's for sure! But in case anyone's interested... I've included a (very bad) photo here so that you can get an idea of what my tattoo #1 looks like. After all these years it could use a color touch up, I'm sure.

It's true that tattoos are addicting. I now have five and I am getting the itch to get another. I know tattoos aren't for everyone and I'll never get completely covered in them, but I do appreciate the beauty in tattoos and think they are such a neat way of expressing one's personality.

If youre the owner of a tattoo shop, you know the importance of having the right supplies tattoo shops need in order to keep customers coming back so they can get beautiful tattoos that help create a buzz for your business. Failing to have supplies tattoo shops need can result in your business failing, and youll have many offers put in front of you that may seem like a good idea if theyre cheaper than the place you normally buy supplies tattoo vendors youve worked with in the past offer, but you should really ask yourself if putting the name of your business on the line for the sake of getting a few tattoo kits for cheap or other supplies at a low cost is worth it. The simple answer is, no, its absolutely not worth your good name just so you can get supplies tattoo vendors sell at a ridiculously low price most likely because they supplies are bad, cheaply made, and potentially dangerous.

Free Tattoo Ideas - How to Get Tattoo Designs for Free

Each and every one of us is always on the lookout for great deals and any way to save money that we can find. With the Internet being so popular these days, many people often turn to the Internet for free tattoo ideas/designs. For most of us, free is always the way to go. When you stop and think about it, a free tattoo design sounds a lot better than paying as much as $150.00 for one at a tattoo studio. The fact about it is simple - someone could just as easily draw their tattoo design themselves and then pay the tattoo artist to put the tattoo on them.

If you give it some thought, you may begin to wonder if free tattoo designs are actually worth it in the end. The fact of them being free is always great, although you may wonder if the design is something you would like to display permanently on your body. When you show your new tattoo to friends, they may think negative thoughts when you tell them that you got the design free off the Internet. Each and every time you show your tattoo people will want to know about the message and the design, which youll probably need to think about.

All of us are familiar with the old saying you get what you pay for, and its truly no different in this scenario. Although there are hundreds and hundreds of websites on the Internet that provide free tattoo designs, few of them are really worth the interest. Most of the free designs out there on the Internet are very poor quality. Therefore, it would be in your best interest to wait and have a professional tattoo artist make the design for you.

Those who choose to go with free tattoo designs will tell you that tattoos are very expensive and they cant afford to have a professional tattoo artists draw up the design. Some people, when dealing with custom tattoo designs, will say that their tattoo artist doesnt do custom designs or that he just dont want to do theirs. Although most of this may be true to an extent, there truly is no better way to get a tattoo than using a design made by a professional tattoo artist.

As most already know, free tattoo designs are normally made by those who know next to nothing about tattoo designing. In most cases, these designs are made by someone who is looking to make a quick profit instead of a true professional tattoo artist. You can easily tell that they arent professional quality simply by looking at them. Most free designs have poor quality, poor lines, and often times the work appears to be made on a personal computer. You certainly wouldnt want to use something like this with your tattoo simply because you will be showing it the rest of your life.

If you spend a lot of time searching on the Internet for free tattoo designs, you may be able to find a few with good quality. There are some good quality designs out there, although youll probably have to search quite a bit to find them. Its best to have an idea in mind about the tattoo you want then look for it that way. Although it may take you some time, you could very well find it. If you do come across it as a free tattoo design you should always triple check the quality before you decide to have it done.
