There are several things that are needed by a tattoo artist to make a tattoo. Like a tattoo gun, needles, power supply and several other things. Needles is one the most important things to make a tattoo. Needle is the thing that is used to make a hole in the skin of the client so that the color in inserted.

 

Needles are actually of two types. The first type is the non disposable ones. These needles can be sterilised after being used. Autoclave is used to sterilise the tattoo needles. But remember that a needle that has been sterilised 2 months before should not be used for tattooing. But there are several tattoo studios that have stopped keeping autoclaves. The second type of needles is the disposable kinds. They can easily be disposed off after being used. The supplies of the disposable needles have increased greatly as the chances of any infections and diseases are decreased. But it also important that a disposable needle pack is broken in front of the client only. This gives them surety of safety.

 

In order to start making a tattoo, a tattoo artist will have to assemble all the parts together. There are three main parts that have to be put together. This includes coil wrap, grip and needles. Only when all these three things are put together, tattooing can be started.

 

Tattoo needles have to be handled with alot of care.
The level of its insertion into the skin of the client should be correct. So a tattoo artist has to be very good at handling tattoo needles first before becoming a professional. Even a little negligence, major problem have occur. Concentration is the key in this profession. So a tattoo artist should always be careful while working with the tattoo needles.

 

Certain tattoo artists make use of two different types of needles to make a tattoo. One is used for outlining whereas the other one is used for shading. Using different types of needles gives a great finishing to the tattoo. Professional tattoo needles are labelled as RS, RL and FS, FL. RS and RL are used as a round shader and a round liner. FS and FL are as a flat shader and a flat liner.
